Where to find gacha in Tokyo
You will see gacha machines almost everywhere in Tokyo: stations, malls, electronics stores, even convenience stores. But if you want the newest sets and the biggest choice, head for a gacha specialty shop: a store with hundreds or even thousands of machines and nothing else. For crane games, look for the big multi-floor arcades near the main stations.
Here are the areas where they are most concentrated. Each link opens a map and a full list with addresses and opening hours.
Akihabara
Tokyo's electronics and anime district is the classic stop. Big arcades line Chuo-dori and the streets around the station, and there are dedicated gacha shops within a few minutes' walk. It is easy to spend a whole afternoon here.
Ikebukuro
Ikebukuro is home to Sunshine City, where the flagship Gashapon Department Store has thousands of machines in one place. The area around the station also has anime shops, arcades and more gacha corners.
Shinjuku and Shibuya
Both are busy all day and late into the night. You will find arcades in Kabukicho (Shinjuku) and around Center Gai (Shibuya), and gacha corners inside the big station buildings and department stores.
Harajuku, Ueno and Asakusa
If you are sightseeing anyway, these areas have gacha machines and smaller arcades along the shopping streets: Takeshita Street in Harajuku, Ameyoko in Ueno, and the streets around Senso-ji in Asakusa.
Tokyo Station, Odaiba and Nakano
Tokyo Station has character shops and gacha corners underground. Odaiba's waterfront malls have large arcades, which makes them a good plan for a rainy day. Nakano Broadway is a mall full of collector shops for anime goods and toys.

Tips
- Bring ¥100 coins. Most machines take only ¥100 coins. Gacha shops and arcades have change machines for ¥1,000 notes. Some newer machines also take IC cards like Suica.
- New sets arrive every week. Bigger shops get more of them, and popular sets sell out. Check what is out this month before you go.
- Each shop picks its own lineup. If one shop doesn't have the set you want, try another nearby.
- Opening hours vary. Shops inside malls close with the mall; arcades near stations often stay open late. Check the hours on each listing.
