Sanrio gacha and crane game prizes in Japan
Hello Kitty, My Melody, Kuromi, Cinnamoroll and Pompompurin are everywhere in Japanese gacha shops and arcades. Sanrio is one of the busiest licenses in both, and Japan gets designs, collaborations and sizes that rarely reach other countries.
Crane game prizes: where most Sanrio goods are
Most new Sanrio items in our catalog are crane game prizes, and most of those come from FuRyu. Expect big plush, outfit and costume series, mascots with ball chains, and everyday goods like cushions, pouches and cups. Prizes are only available at arcades, not in stores.
Look for them at large arcades such as GiGO, Taito Station, namco and the family arcades in AEON malls like Molly Fantasy.
Capsule toys
Bandai and Takara Tomy A.R.T.S release Sanrio capsule toys every month: charms, mini figures, rings and the Mejirushi Accessory markers. Any large gacha shop will have several Sanrio machines.
Characters to look for
- Hello Kitty, including Japan-only themes.
- My Melody and Kuromi, often released as a pair.
- Cinnamoroll and Pompompurin.
- Less familiar faces abroad, like Hangyodon and Hapidanbui, and older characters from the 1990s and 2000s that are popular again.
Tips
- Sanrio prizes are often released in several colors or outfits. Each arcade machine usually holds only one, so look around.
- Collaborations with K-pop groups and fashion brands appear regularly and sell out fast.
- Big plush is easier to carry home than it looks. See packing tips.
